- Experience a young person’s journey into adulthood as a journey of faith: within Health and Social Care it recognises that true justice, peace and human freedom require, first and foremost, respect for the dignity of human life and an understanding of human development.
- Develop an understanding that people within a community are cared for in such a way that their physical, moral and intellectual talents may develop in a harmonious and holistic manner.
- Develop the knowledge and skills of all studying Health and Social Care, including the most disadvantaged pupils and pupils with SEND, providing the knowledge, skills and cultural capital they require for future learning and employment.
- Experience a continuous progression model with a seamless transition between KS4 and KS5: an acquisition of the processes that underpins effective ways of working within the sector.
- Develop key skills such as interpreting data to assess and individual’s health and write specific plans to improve their health and wellbeing while exposing them to sector specific language for the world of work.
- Experience metacognition, debate and critical thinking as they are planned for and taught within the Health and Social care coursework and exam preparation.
- Promote fundamental British Values through Care Values and a variety of legislation: including democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.
