St. Bede’s Awarded the LiveSimply Award
St. Bede’s Catholic School, Peterlee, has officially been awarded the CAFOD LiveSimply Award.

St. Bede’s Catholic School was officially awarded the CAFOD LiveSimply Award after completing a two-year programme of activities demonstrating a commitment to living simply, living sustainably, and living in solidarity with others.
The school received the national LiveSimply Award from CAFOD, recognising its long-term dedication to caring for creation and supporting those in need.
Our LiveSimply Journey
Students, staff, families and parish partners all contributed to the two-year journey. Laudato Si’ groups, chaplaincy teams and form classes each led different initiatives.
Living Simply
- Helping students reflect on how small daily choices can make a positive difference.
- Encouraging the school community to live out faith through meaningful action.
Living Sustainably
- Responding to Pope Francis’ call in Laudato Si’ to protect the environment.
- Caring for creation through activities in school and the surrounding local area.
Living in Solidarity
- Working with families, parish partners and the wider community to support others.
- Extending support to global causes and standing with those most in need.
Final Assessment
The award was confirmed this week following a final assessment visit by CAFOD representatives.
